What I Read Today:

1 Timothy 2; John 7; Hosea 1; Psalm 14; 2 Kings 15; Genesis 17

Peaceful and quiet lives.  That’s a tough one these days.  I feel like sometimes I’m living through the pages of the old newspaper letter to the editor section.  Some mornings I feel emotionally and physically drained.  It’s moments like these that I need to hear the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-4:

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” NIV
