What I Read Today;
Ephesians 4: Luke 11: Ezekiel 41; Ecclesiastes 11; 1 Kings 17
Ephesians 4:1-7, “Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope at your calling— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. Now grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” CSB
Where do I start? We sure don’t seem to be following verse 2, do we? We attack one another, bash one another, and do everything we can to offend each other.
Then there is verse 3. Unity? What the heck is that? We’re ready to tear each other’s eyeballs out at the drop of a hat.
To describe the church right now as one body would be difficult at best. How in the world do we live up to this chapter?
The most significant task the church faces right now is to figure out how to stop fighting and start preaching Jesus.
Are we up to the task?
That is the real question? Are we up to the task? I think collectively it’s a bit of a long shot but I believe in Lord God, Jesus Christ so I am putting all my hope in Him.

We can start by not tearing out the eyes of those who are doing the work we are not willing to do. We should focused on our own calling and be faithful to God in that!
