What I Read Today;
2 Corinthians 13; Luke 1; Ezekiel 31; Proverbs 29-30; 1 Kings 7
In Luke 1:26-38, Mary comes face to face with the Angel Gabriel. A young teenage girl is about to get called into God’s service.
I get this image in my head of a young Mary, standing before the Gabriel. Her head is down, her eyes gazing at the floor in wonder. She wonders in her soul, why me? Why has God chosen someone like me? I’m a nobody—a poor teenager living in a small town. What does God see in me?
When God calls us, we may not understand why. We may feel like God is insane. We may wonder if we are crazy. But God, in His infinite wisdom, knows what he is doing. He’s picked you for a reason. He’s appointed you for just a moment like this.
Is God calling you right now? Is he asking you to take the Gospel somewhere? Is he saying that he needs you to serve as his hands and feet? It doesn’t matter how old or young you are. When God calls you into his service, you need to go to God in prayer. Understanding God’s call is difficult. It’s taken me a long time to figure out what he wanted me to do.
Now the question is, will you answer his call?
