What I Read Today;
Revelation 15-16; Jeremiah 40; Psalm 118; 1 Samuel 14
Psalm 118:1, “O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever!” NRSV
It is so true. God’s love never ends. God is merciful, kind, and loving. He holds out his hand to each one of us, no matter what we’ve done or said. God pursues us all the days of our lives.
No matter what we are going through, we can rely on the immeasurable grace and love that our God has for you and me.
Psalm 118:5-9, “Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. With the Lord on my side, I do not fear. What can mortals do to me? The Lord is on my side to help me; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” NRSV
When the world is falling apart around us, God is there to help us put the pieces back together. When our self-inflicted wounds, leave us in agony, our God sends his peace to build us back up. When people attack us, our God is with us. It is only in God that we can find ultimate peace and joy. Only God can provide us the gifts of salvation and mercy.
Psalm 118:24, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” NRSV
It doesn’t matter what the world does today. God is in control. Nothing that life throws at us matters. God is in control. No pain can take away the love our God has for us. Our circumstances may change, but God is in control!
Psalm 118:28-29, “You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God, I will extol you. O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” NRSV
The world may be in chaos, the world may overwhelm us. Yet it is our God who blesses us and keeps us. It is our God, who gives each of us, his unlimited grace and mercy.
It is our God who deserves our praise and love!
Your blog is beautiful. I like your very personal response to the Word of God, which gives breath and life to all things! I too read scripture while praying. The Lord reveals so many wonderful things this way. He speaks to the individual and always gives just what we need. May God bless you 🙏🏻
