What I Read Today;

1 Thessalonians 3; Acts 25-26; Malachi 1-2; Deuteronomy 32

Christians sometimes get confused.  Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek.  While he said that, he also said we should take a sword with us for defense.

Paul is standing before a Roman Tribunal.  He’s been stuck there in prison for 2 years.  As the Jews once again make their false attacks on him and ask for his return to Jerusalem, a new governor is in charge.  Instead of doing the proper thing and releasing Paul, he tries to get Paul to go with the Jews.

Rather than agree, Paul invokes his rights and demands to go to Rome.

Pretty sad that Paul knew he’d get a fairer hearing in pagan Rome than in Godly Jerusalem.

But in spite of the unfair treatment, when Paul is allowed to preach the Gospel, he jumps at it.  No matter the circumstances or situation, Paul was always on the lookout for an opportunity to talk about Jesus.

So if Paul was able to spread the Gospel when he was falsely imprisoned, what’s our excuse?
