What I Read This Morning;
Colossians 2; Acts 17-18; Zechariah 7-8; Song of Songs 5; Esther 9-10; Deuteronomy 28
Merry Christmas to each and everyone who receives my notes each day!
This morning we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus.
A moment to remind ourselves what it is that God has done for us. A time to celebrate the moment that God intervened in human history.
As I was reading this morning in Colossians chapter 2, I ran across two verses that I will leave you with this morning.
Verse 9, “For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.” NRSV
Verse 6 & 7, “As you, therefore, have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” NRSV
When we say that Jesus is the reason for the season, I believe that it means that Jesus Christ came to complete a work of saving grace for all humanity. His life and death would provide each of us a way to enter into the presence of a Holy God. A God who loved each one of us. He loved us so much that he stepped out of Heaven to live a perfect life that we could not live.
Today is Christmas, the day that God started the mission to save all of us!
