What I read today;

Hebrews 9; John 14; Jeremiah 14; Psalm 48; 1 Samuel 31; Exodus 33

Exodus 33 vs. 13-14 – “Now if I have found favor in your sight, show me your ways, so that I may know you and find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.”  He said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”” NRSV

The single reason that I read the scriptures every day is so that I might better know who God is and better follow his ways.  It is that search each day to hear God’s voice and listen to his message of hope.  If we have failed as a church to teach our people one thing, it is that each Christian must daily search for God and seek to follow him.

We have run after programs, books, and studies to attempt to reinvigorate our people and our congregations.  While all the time, our source of strength lay right in front of our eyes.

Encourage those around you to seek out God in the scriptures!  We can change our world one life at a time by showing our neighbors how to discover a personnel relationship with Jesus Christ!
