What I read today;
Exodus 8; 1 Samuel 6; Psalm 23; Isaiah 55; Luke 13; 2 Thessalonians 1
All human beings are created with a spiritual core. Each of us has the understanding that there is something bigger than ourselves. We know that something or someone had to create this universe we live in. The idea that life randomly popped up on this single planet, makes little or no sense. Whether you believe in intelligent design or evolution the reality is that something had to be there to begin creation. There is just no other explanation.
But that’s not the really important part of the conversation, is it?
What’s important is that the same God who created everything also stands with his hands out beckoning you and me to come to him. He actively seeks out humanity and offers hope and joy.
In Isaiah 55 vs. 1 he offers us this;
“Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.”
God offers each of us a relationship with him. He offers us spiritual food in the word of God and the sacraments. He gives us a means of communication in prayer. He tells us that the spiritual void we feel can be filled if we turn to God and truly seek him.
How will you seek him today?
