What I Read Today;

2 Corinthians 4; Mark 10; Isaiah 36; Job 38; Judges 12; Genesis 36

The rich young man in Mark chapter 10 doesn’t really get the point. He looks at salvation and wonders what he must do to obtain it. Outside of Christianity, all the worlds religions ask the same question.

How do I work my way to God?

When we ask our question that way, we make it about us not about Jesus. Our salvation is not about what we do. It’s about what Jesus has done for us. What does what the young man asks say about him.

Later in Mark 10 we see the James and John trying to elevate themselves above the rest of the disciples. Again we see people putting themselves above others. People trying to put themselves above others.

The entire lesson of both sections of scripture is simple. Salvation is about Jesus not us. Christianity is about Jesus.
