What I read today;
Revelation 8-9; Acts 13-14; Zechariah 3-4; Proverbs 24; Song of Songs 2; Revelation 27
Revelation 8 and 9 are filled with war, famine, and plague. God pronounces judgment on mankind for it’s evil and wicked ways. It’s tough to read and think about it, isn’t it? How can a loving God allow this? But people will, in the end, make the decision to run from God. They will go there own way. It’s sad but true.
But did you catch the message of hope amid all this destruction? Did you hear the promise of God buried in the words of chapter 9 verse 4?
God promises to save all who trust in him. No matter what the rest of humanity does or does not do, God will save those who turn to him. It’s our ultimate hope that on the last day, God will welcome us to him in our heavenly home once to spend eternity with Jesus.
The holy spirit put a mark on our head when we came to Christ! In our Baptism, the Holy Spirit sealed us into the name of Christ!
Just like God protected the Jewish people during the Passover, God will protect each and every one of our souls until we walk in eternity with him!
