What I read today;
2 Corinthians 3; Mark 6; Ezekiel 12-13; Psalm 124; Esther 9-10; Numbers 13
How frustrating is it when someone you love refuses to come to Christ? I’m sure Jesus felt the same way in his home town. People sat and looked at him dumbfounded. Who did this guy think he was? They’d seen him grow up. They knew who he was. Even his own family looked at him like he was crazy. Did Jesus get angry? No, Jesus just shook his head and moved on.
He planted the seeds and let the Holy Spirit do the rest of the work.
We know that later his brother James would become a leader in the new Christian Church. We believe that his mother also was very involved in the new church. The Holy Spirit used Jesus words and actions to eventually bring them to saving faith in Christ.
So when we have those moments of frustration with people we love, remember that it is not our job to bring people to faith. It is our job to share the Gospel of Jesus with as many as we can. The Holy Spirit does the work. We are just instruments who hold out the message.
You never know when a person will remember a message and come to know who Jesus is. Pray for those you love and give yourself a break. Always, trusting that God will take care of the rest.
