What I read today;

Exodus 37; 1 Chronicles 10-11; Psalm 81; Jeremiah 15; Acts 19; Revelation 3-4

In chapters 2, 3 and 4 Jesus sends individual messages to the churches in Asia.  At the time of the writing of Revelation, the churches were under horrible persecution under the emperor Domitian.

Each of the churches had handled the persecution differently, so Jesus gave them individual messages.  Some had been faithful and effective while others had been lukewarm and ineffective.

But Jesus message to the churches ends with a promise.  He holds out his hands to the churches and those suffering persecution and offers the hope of salvation.  He gives them a promise to the one who trusts in Jesus he will provide a heavenly home.  In the midst of the worst of all persecutions, Jesus is still there.  He offers the same promise today to you and me!

Revelation 3 vs. 20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
