What I read today;

Exodus 34; 1 Chronicles 4-5; Psalm 78; Jeremiah 12; Acts 16; 1 John 5 & 2 John 1

John is known as the apostle of love.  He was with Jesus, cared for Jesus mother after Jesus died and was the last of the apostles to die.  His message is always to the point and usually quite profound.

But I don’t think he could make it more apparent than this.

1 John 5 vs. 12, “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Much like Peter, Paul and the other Apostles John holds nothing back.  You either have life through the redeeming work of Jesus, or you do not.  Being a good person isn’t the answer.  Worshiping a god of your choice isn’t the answer.  Jesus was quite clear when he said;

John 11 vs. 25-26, “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

And later Jesus made it even more definitive;

John 14 vs. 6, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In a time when everything seems to be negotiable, this is the timeless truth of Christianity that is genuinely non-negotiable!
