What I read today;
Exodus 19; 1 Kings 21-22; Psalm 63; Isaiah 63; Acts 1; Hebrews 1-2
If you ever watched Pete Rose play baseball, you knew you were watching a man who lived for the game. Walter Payton and Jerry Rice were men who lived to play football. Dean Karnazes is a man who started running in his early 30’s and today years later has run in some of the most daunting ultra-marathon races around the world. Running is truly his passion.
What’s your passion? What do you live for?
The Psalmist describes his passion in this way;
Psalm 63 vs. 1-8, “O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because our steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name, I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.” ESV
So I’ll ask you again, what are you passionate about?
