What I read today;
Exodus 18; 1 Kings 19-20; Psalm 62; Isaiah 62; John 21; Titus 3 & Philemon
Titus 3 reminds us that no matter how angry we get, no matter what evil we think is going on, that we should always focus on our brothers and sisters as God’s children and not think more highly of ourselves than we deserve.
Titus 3 vs. 1-2 “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.” ESV
Paul tells us that we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
Titus 3 vs. 3, “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.”
Finally, Paul reminds us that our salvation is about what Jesus did not how we behaved.
Titus 3 vs. 4-7, “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
