What I read today;
Exodus 13; 1 Kings 9-10; Psalm 57; Isaiah 57; John 16; 1 Timothy 3-4
Being a Christian can be difficult on some days. Especially if you want to adhere to the belief that the Bible is God’s Word. That’s not very popular right now. Many in our society and some in our churches want to re-write the very beliefs that Jesus and the Apostles handed down to us.
But we were warned these days would arrive.
1 Timothy 4 vs. 1-5 says, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.” ESV
But Jesus tells us that he is the answer to all our worry. Jesus tells us that we’re going to have times of trouble. But Jesus is in control, even when it seems he’s not.
John 16 vs. 33 says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” ESV
