What I read today;

Genesis 44; 1 Samuel 26-27; Psalm 38; Isaiah 38; Luke 21; 2 Corinthians 6-7

Luke 21 could be considered a depressing chapter, couldn’t it?  Jesus tells of wars, destruction, betrayal, and Christians being abandoned by their own families.  That’s not exactly an inspirational speech, is it?

But there is a happy ending.

Jesus is coming back.  He’s coming back for each one of us.  This time when he comes back it won’t be as a meek carpenter’s son.  It will be as a judge.  It’s going to happen.  We just don’t know when.

To keep us from despair and depression Jesus has left behind his words and his holy spirit for each one of us.

In spite of all the madness around us, focus on Jesus and wait eagerly for his return.
