What I read today;

Genesis 32; 1 Samual 2-3; Psalm 26; Isaiah 26; Luke 7-8; 1 Corinthians 10

So many things in our lives are fleeting.  We stand on, what we think is solid ground, only to find out it is really sand.  Just when we think everything is solid and secure, out of nowhere life smacks us down.

Maybe it’s a job loss, or perhaps a death in our family, or it could be a betrayal by our spouse.  No matter what it is, the event rocks our world.

That’s why it’s so important to stay connected to God.  Isaiah 26 vs. 3-4 says “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” ESV

God never promises that our life will be easy.  He promises that if we are faithful to him he will bless us.  That’s why we should focus on the creator of the universe who loves us more than life itself.

Isaiah 26 vs. 9 “My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.” ESV
