What I read today;
Genesis 29; Judges 21 & Ruth 1; Psalm 23; Isaiah 23; Luke 1-2; 1 Corinthians 7
Have you ever read Luke’s account of the birth of Jesus and thought about how amazing it was?
Think about it for a minute.
His mother was a young non-descript virgin from a small town, from a family of no real standing in the community.
He was born in a barn. No big party was thrown, no celebration.
It was announced to a group of shepherds outside of town tending flocks. It wasn’t announced to the priests. Nor was it announced to the kings of the earth. There was no grand parade or celebration.
Upon his arrival at the synagogue, only two elderly people understood what was happening.
Yet here was the savior of mankind. In all his humility and humble circumstances here lies our savior. God himself stepped out of heaven for you and me in that barn in Bethlehem.
Have you ever really thought about it?
