What I read today;
Genesis 26; Judges 15-16; Psalm 20; Isaiah 20; Mark 11-12; 1 Corinthians 4
What do you trust in?
Is it your job? Your family? Your bank account? Your government? What do you really put your faith and hope in?
In the time that the Psalms were written many trusted in the high walls surrounding a city, or the number of horses and chariot that a particular army had. Today it’s not much different. We trust in things that can be taken away in the snap of the fingers.
In the past 20 years, we’ve seen 401k accounts erased three times during economic downturns. We’ve witnessed great American companies like K-Mart, Sears, Wards, General Electric, and many others become shells of their former selves.
Pensions that used to be guaranteed are no longer sure things.
Divorce rocks even the longest lasting marriages nowadays.
So where can we put our trust?
Psalm 20 vs. 7-8 shows us where to put our trust.
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.” ESV
Put your faith in the one who is truly reliable and will never let you down!
