What I read today

Esther 9; Ecclesiastes 6; Zechariah 11; Revelation 16

We live in a time of great blessings.  People, even the poorest among us, live with the benefits of technology, cars, homes, more leisure time than at any other time in history and more knowledge than ever before.

Yet people are miserable.

Suicides are up, divorce is skyrocketing, we are divided along racial, political and gender lines.

How can it be that we are so blessed but so unhappy?

We’ve forgotten how to be grateful.  We’ve forgotten how to be thankful for the many blessings that we have today.

At this time of year shouldn’t we be thinking about our blessings and not about the things we wish we had?
