What I read today

2 Chronicles 17; Ecclesiastes 6; Hosea 5; John 2; 1 Thessalonians 1

The nation of Judah would spend its entire history wavering between two types of kings.  One king would lead the country away from God and towards the worship of the gods of the nations that surrounded Judah.  Other Kings would lead them back to worship the one true God.

The thing that separated each of these types of Kings was the reverence that the King would place on the Law of the Lord the very scriptures that God had handed down through Moses.

In our nation today we are losing the reverence for the word of God.  Some are teaching that the Bible is not the inerrant word handed down from God through man.  They are teaching that the Bible is merely a collection of books and that we have to pick and choose what to believe.

Maybe that’s why church attendance has dropped to the lowest levels in the history of our nation.  Just a thought.
