What I read today
2 Chronicles 13; Ecclesiastes 2; Hosea 1; Luke 22; Colossians 1
Abijah is King over Judah at one of the worst times in the history of the Kingdom of Judah. He’s outnumbered by the northern kingdom, and King Jeroboam is looking for a fight.
But Abijah chooses to remain faithful to the Lord. He cares for the priests and Levites. He continues the practice of sacrificing to the Lord daily. He worships the Lord in all his ways and puts his faith and trust in him.
Jeroboam tries using his superior forces and military tactics to his advantage only to come up short when God intercedes.
In our lifetimes we’re going to have those moments when we are faced with the overwhelming force of the world against us. When our culture is attacking the things we believe in, when those around us turn against us because of our faith and when it appears that all hope is lost.
In those moments return to the faith that sustains us. Return to the promises of God and remember that everything is part of his master plan and that he will work all things out for our good.
