What I read today

2 Chronicles 7-8; Proverbs 29; Daniel 8; Luke 18; Philippians 1

In Philippians 1, Paul is stuck in prison.  He’s been accused of crimes he didn’t commit.  But he knew something that all of us should remember.

He knew that as long as he was on this earth that God had plans for his life.  He had things for him to do.  His time of grace on this earth would continue in fruitful work for the kingdom of God.

He wanted to go home and be with Jesus.  He was tired, beaten up, getting old and sometimes he probably wondered why he was still on this earth.  But in the end, as long as he was here he was going to fulfill his mission to reach out to lost souls in need of a savior.

Sometimes we would rather go home and be with the Lord.  But like Paul God isn’t done with us yet.  He still wants us to fulfill our mission and to work for him!
