What I read today
2 Kings 7-8; Proverbs 9; Ezekiel 36; Mark 14; 2 Corinthians 6
Ezekiel 36 verse 26-28 says, “A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you, and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.”
I don’t often agree with politicians, but last week I heard one say that in his opinion, “we are coming apart.”
He’s right. We are definitely coming apart right now. We’ve pitted men and against women, citizens verses illegal aliens, gay verses straight, conservative versus liberal and black versus white. And that doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Our society definitely needs a new heart. A heart that serves one another and looks to God for guidance and wisdom. We need to pray to God that we rediscover the need to love one another. Not just in word but in action. Otherwise, it’s going to be a dark time.
