What I read today

1 Samuel 17-18; Psalm 126; Ezekiel 3; Matthew 9; Romans 4

It’s a tough job God has given to each one of us.

That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 9 that we were supposed to pray for more workers.  But it’s difficult to proclaim what the word of God says, isn’t it?

People don’t want to hear that they are sinners.  They don’t want to believe that they need Jesus.  They don’t want to believe that the Bible is the word of God.  They’d rather believe that they are good people who don’t really need any of that “God” stuff.

That’s what makes the job of reaching out to people with God’s love so tricky.

In fact, it’s so hard that Ezekiel sat in a state of shock for 11 days after getting his marching orders from God.

But the world we live in needs Jesus more today than ever before.  So how can we be quiet?
