What I read today
Judges 19-21; Psalm 115; Jeremiah 49; Acts 26; Revelation 7-8
The book of Revelation has always been a bit of a mystery book to me. I know that many people have written books, produce movies and done other things trying to say they’ve cracked the code with the Book of Revelation but when I read it often it just looks like a mystery to me. I get the idea that at the end of time before Jesus comes back things are going to get bad. But I can’t come up with a timeline like some people come up with for when Jesus is coming back. Truthfully, I think many of them miss the point.
Chapter 7 vs. 9-17 is one of the sections of the Book of Revelation that tell me what I should focus on.
The great multitude from every tribe and nation that gathers before the throne of Jesus. That’s what we should focus on. Washing in the blood of Jesus and putting on the white robe that he gives us, that’s what we should be focusing on. Focusing on the promise that when we get to Heaven to be with Jesus there will be no more hunger, no more pain, life eternal and the Lord himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes.
Don’t focus on dates and times. Focus on Jesus.
