What I read today

Exodus 17-18; Psalm 34; Isaiah 34; Mark 6; 2 Corinthians 2

Psalm 34 verse 13-14 “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”

It’s easy to get caught up in bickering and fighting nowadays.  We can find a fight on social media virtually every time we look.

People are ready for a fight.

But that’s not God’s way, is it?

God wants us to seek peace.  Not just seek peace but to pursue peace.  To search for it, to leave no stone unturned while looking for it.

Peace may seem fleeting in this day and age.  But God says his people should seek to live in peace as much as it depends on us.  So avoid that fight over a Facebook post.  Stay away from the twitter feuds.  Don’t worry so much about what your next door neighbor is or isn’t doing in his yard.

Seek to live in peace with everyone.  Life is to short.
