What I read today
Genesis 37-38; Psalm 19; Isaiah 19; Matthew 19; 1 Corinthians 3
In Psalm 19 starting at verse 7 we hear David speaking about the Law of the Lord.
God’s word is a blessing that we all should treasure and hold onto tightly.
Why do you think so many totalitarian governments do everything they can to stop people from reading God’s word? What are they afraid of? Why would just a book be so frightening to them?
The truth is the Bible is God’s love letter to all of us. It tells of our sin and our salvation. It shows our weaknesses and God’s strength. It truly is able to cut to the heart of our souls.
More importantly it is the one way we can hear what God thinks and what he wants us to do with our lives.
The reason so many governments are afraid of God’s word is that God truly does speak to us through the Bible.
Take time every day to listen to what God has to say. He’ll talk to you and show you his will. He’ll give you rest for your weary souls and refresh you in times of depression.
Meditate on God’s word, listen to God’s word and Learn God’s word.
