What I read today:

Genesis 5-6; Psalm 3; Isaiah 3; Matthew 3; Romans 3

Have you ever been to Walmart and come across someone in one of Walmart’s electric carts.  You notice that they are trying to reach something on an upper shelf, but because of their physical problems, it’s just out of reach.

Have you ever walked over and grabbed that box for them?

Have you seen the look of gratitude from them?

Maybe relief or even embarrassment?

Romans 3:28 says “We hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the law.”

No matter how hard we try, we can’t reach salvation on our own.  We reach out, only to fall down.  We climb only to slip with it just out of our reach.

But Jesus wraps his arms around us and lifts us up to him.  He carries us to our salvation.  We can’t do it on our own, so Jesus does it for us!
